POSITION SUMMARY: The Youth & Teen Coordinator is responsible for the development, delivery, management of YMCA Youth & Teen programs. Key focus areas include, but are not limited to, overseeing the day to day operations, safety and staff development. Responsibilities include volunteer development, program planning and facilitation, event planning, administrative work, and occasional weekend events or activities. This position is key to communicating the YMCA mission and goals to the community at large as well as to members and staff.



  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred with a major or emphasis in Youth Development or a related accredited field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with youth with at least 1 year of related experience in the development, supervision and management of youth programs and activities. Prior YMCA experience in Summer Day Camp and/or Youth and Government is a plus. 
  • Must be 21 years of age with two or more years of experiencing working/volunteering with families, youth, and teens. 
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; strong practical knowledge of database software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with parents, children and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner, and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts quickly, discreetly and effectively.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification


  • Designs, implements and evaluates youth & teen programs based on target market, organization, strategic plan and community needs.
  • Ensures accurate and professional delivery of all YMCA youth & teen programs, including but not limited to: Summer Day Camp, Child Activity Center, Youth & Government, etc.
  • Builds and maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants & staff.
  • Creates a supportive community environment.
  • Works in partnership with other YMCA staff to insure the facility is clean, safe and in usable condition and reports unsafe or unhealthful working conditions.


STATUS/HOURS: Hourly, part-time, 20-25 hours per week



$13-$15 per hour, based on experience
